Professor Francis Chan is an enthusiastic and avid collector of antiques, with a particular interest in Chinese antiquities. Fascinated by the idea that each piece of antique tells a story itself, he is keen on learning history through art pieces instead of flipping through history books. He sees many things in common between art appreciation and medical practice in the sense that they both require a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn. Art appreciation resonates with the way doctors observe and make contact with patients, as well as making judgements which relies on experience and knowledge.
