Biography
Professor Philip CHIU started learning Chinese Painting since teenage under the tutelage of Lingnan Master Professor Chao Shao-an and Master Koo Mei, focusing on birds, flowers, animals, insects and landscapes. He was awarded first championship (1987) and runners up (1988) at the Hong Kong Youth Cultural & Arts Competition. His painting “Loguat” was selected as one of the prize-winning artworks of China’s Ninth National Art Exhibition. He held his first solo exhibition at the Hong Kong Central Library in 2009, and over 30 joint exhibitions have been held in Hong Kong, Singapore and other Mainland cities over the decades.
